Black People in Vienna was started by Denise VanDeCruze in the fall of 2015 as a social group to connect black people with each other. The group quickly grew as on Facebook and has multiple regular monthly gatherings including a movie night, a women’s brunch and an After-Work mixer. The group also gets together for special events and concerts.
Since people are not on Facebook for a myriad of reasons, it became important for the group to have a separate online space where they could join, have discussions and sign up to receive announcements. Thus blackpeopleinvienna.com was created to facilitate that need.
If you are a black person living in Vienna, you can apply to join this online space. After you come to one gathering, you are given access to this site. The benefits of full access include event listings, special deals, and the ability to participate in our discussion forums and business directory.
